Relieved, we walked in to the elevator that would take us to our state-room. We met an african elderly couple and the wife tells her husband - oh! we did not press the floor button. Husband pressed the button and explained to us - 'We are on vacation'. That was beautiful and it set the mood for the cruise.
The state-room is quite small with a huge bed and little walking space. We had a comfortable balcony too where we sat and watched the Miami skyline. We had our first buffet lunch at the outdoor cafe and that is where I saw two keralite cooks right from my neighbourhood. Felt good.
From the outdoor cafe which was on top deck, miami city looked very attractive. Later on from our balcony, we also got the chance to witness the beautiful sunset against the miami cityscape.I had been missing sunsets a lot but this one came in unexpected and I could not make the best use of the opportunity to capture the beauty in photographs and memories fade faster which is why I am trying to blog.
At 5PM, the ship started moving and we watched from the balcony as the coast guard followed us armed. I kept shooting the city and the beautiful blue waters.Soon, the dense sea lost all contact with the miami frills and was one deep meditative unattractive blue. And so we exited the balcony and the stateroom to explore the ship.
We started at the top and saw the pool and jacuzzis with loud music setting the ambience. We roamed around and suddenly landed in another buffet restaurant - the Garden cafe. Here, a cook from Trichur met me - we had fish, meat and dessert to heart fill. We continued our stroll and reached a teens-section where teens were playing TT , video games etc and the sign read "This is strictly a no-parent zone".We went through multiple bars where excellent live music performances were being given by both male and female singers. In retrospect, could have done more to take in the pleasures more fully of all the luxury that the ship threw around.
Then we went to the Palace restaurant and had another light dinner! - chef's specialty item. With all that hardwork, I just had to sleep and did just that. The cold that I had caught in Miami had meanwhile crept up as we had taken in a lot of cold wind on the deck.Tomorrow's day would start with sunrise by design and today has ended crouched cosily in bed.
